What Is Google Page Ranking Algorithm And Its Uses

Page Rank is a link analysis algorithm, named after Larry Page. Page Rank is a trademark of Google and the Page Rank process has been patented. Instead of assigning the patent to Google, it is assigned to Stanford University.  Page Rank Algorithm is a sequence of instructions quietly used by the Search Engines to calculate the search results i.e. SERP made for a specific keyword. Hence, priority is given to different factors like Keyword Strength, Domain Strength, Inbound link Score, user data, content quality score, manual boost, etc.

Google page ranking is one of the most important algorithms for the Web as far. Searching is the most complicated and complex issue yet rather billions of pages are generated every day. Basically, it is based on incoming links but beyond this relevance and quality are also vital in terms of Page Rank of sites that ultimately links to a given site. It is tough to reach each Page Rank level. It doesn’t rank websites as a whole rather these are assigned to each page individually.

USES

  • It determines a page’s relevance and importance.
  • Based on incoming links, it does not accept any effect of bad incoming links.
  • Except for banned sited each inbound link is important to the overall total. It is logarithmic in its calculation. It takes one step to move from a PR0 to a PR1 and the number of steps keeps on rising to reach PR5.
